Irene Cardamone

IRENE R. CARDAMONE (nee Hengenius) age 90, beloved wife of the late John S. Sr.; loving mother of John S. Jr. (deceased), Janet Carson (Terry), Nancy Vecchio (James), and MaryLou Mele (Paul); devoted grandmother of Carolyn Osters (Michael), Joseph Cardamone, Andrew Carson (Kelli), April Carson (James Ewing), Salvatore Vecchio (Sheridan), Cara Berg (Ryan), James Vecchio (Christine), Kristin Mele, Nicholas Mele and great-grandmother of 13; dearest sister of the late Alice Humphrey.

Irene was born on October 21, 1925 in Cleveland and passed away on February 2, 2016. She was most recently a resident of Bainbridge Twp. Irene graduated from North Royalton High School. She was a customer service representative with Insurance Diversified Agency in Solon and once had her own catering company. Irene enjoyed traveling, sewing, crafts, golf, cooking and was a wonderful baker. She loved spending time outside in the sun, gardening and listening to the birds. Irene was a huge baseball fan, who loved the Yankees, Derek Jeter, and of course the Indians. She was happiest being with her family.

Irene will be remembered by her family and friends as loving, caring, outgoing, friendly and always smiling. She was very family oriented, had a quick wit, was thoughtful and remembered everyone’s birthdays and phone numbers. Irene will be greatly missed.

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, February 6, 2016 at St. Rita Catholic Church 32820 Baldwin Rd., Solon, OH 44139 at 10 AM. Burial following at All Saints Cemetery. Family will receive friends to celebrate the life of Irene on FRIDAY 4:30-8:30 PM at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) and SATURDAY MORNING at St. Rita Catholic Church 9:30-10 AM.
