Imre Karetka

Imre Karetka, peacefully passed away on November 7, 2024 surrounded by his family at the age of 82.

Born on October 16, 1942 in Petri, Romania. It was in Petri where he met and married his beloved wife Mária of 51 years.

Imre worked as a painter in Romania and was able to bring his family to America in 1988. He enjoyed following politics and having animated discussions about life back in Europe. Upon retiring, Imre was an avid gardener and enjoyed being outside rain or shine, tending to his plants. He also enjoyed the company of his 7 grandchildren, who he always encouraged to take up a gardening hobby. His hard-working ethic and helpful nature will very much be missed by his loving family,

Imre was preceded in death by his brother Lászlo, and sisters Magdolna, Teréz and Anna. He is survived by his loving wife Mária; son Imre (Anikó) and Levente (Lívia); grandchildren Levente, Zsofia, Elek, Emese, Tamás, Csenge and Noémi; brother Antal and sister Magda.

A visitation for friends and family will be held from 4-6 pm on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at DeJohn - Flynn - Mylott Funeral Home 4600 Mayfield Rd, South Euclid, OH 44121 (just east of Green Rd).

The funeral service will begin Monday, November 11, 2024 at 11:30 at DeJohn - Flynn - Mylott Funeral Home. Burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon.
