HOWARD J. SCHLEIMER, age 91; beloved husband of the late Rita M. (nee Trivison); loving father of Robert of Dunedin, FL, Mary “Mimi” Werner (husband Richard) of Dunedin, FL, Barbara Lange (husband James) of Ft Myers, FL and Janet Raymond (husband Kirk) of Clearwater, FL; devoted grandfather of 7 and great-grandfather of 11; cherished son of the late Jacob and Sophie; dearest brother of the late Dorothy, Marguerite and Richard; dear brother-in-law of Sr Mary Louise Trivison, S.N.D, Margaret A. Trivison and the late Rev Louis J. Trivison.

Howard was a resident of Fort Myers, FL for 3 years, after moving from Lyndhurst where he was a member of St. Clare Catholic Church for 62 years. A WWII U.S. Army Veteran who served in the 11th Airborne Division as a paratrooper, Howard earned a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. He graduated from Cathedral Latin High School and attended the University of Detroit and Fenn College, becoming a purchasing agent for McDowell-Wellman Engineering Company. He was a hockey game official serving as a goal judge for the Cleveland Barons and Cleveland Crusaders for 29 years. Howard enjoyed riding his bike, was a big Cleveland sports fan and loved watching the University of Notre Dame. His family will fondly remember him as a selfless, generous, hardworking man who was very patriotic and proud of serving his country.

Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at St. Clare Catholic Church at 10:30 AM. Burial following with Military Honors at All Souls Cemetery.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Howard at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) MONDAY 3-5 & 6-8 PM.
