Horst E. Redetzki

HORST E. REDETZKI, age 75, died peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, in Morgantown, West Virginia, while returning to Pepper Pike, Ohio from a wonderful vacation in the Outerbanks of North Carolina, beloved husband for 47 years to the late Brigitte (nee Trojok), dear father of Burt (Emily) and Peter (Karen), loving grandfather to Tyler, Mallory and Sasha, devoted son of the late Erich and Helene, fond brother-in-law to Renate (Ken) and Viola, cherished uncle to Taylor, Christina and Jeanette, and dear great uncle to Nina. Horst was born in Berlin, Germany on June 12, 1937, emigrated to the U.S.A. in 1964, and served in the U.S. Army, National Guard and Army Reserves.

He worked as an international banker for 40 years for Key Bank (f/k/a Society National Bank), traveling extensively throughout Europe and Central America. He served as president and treasurer for the Ohio Foreign Commerce Association and several other trade groups and community organizations. He was patient with his mischievous sons and an avid fan of his grandkids’ activities.

Funeral services Monday, Aug. 20, 2012 at the funeral home at 1:30 PM. Rev Horst Hoyer, Officiating. Burial following in Knollwood Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Horst at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just East of Green Rd.) MONDAY 12 NOON UNTIL TIME OF SERVICE.
