HERMINIO BANAAG BALLADO, aged 81 years, of Cleveland Heights, passed away from natural causes on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2023, at his home. Beloved husband of Norma (nee Makilan), dear father of Sheila (husband Reuben Pinkson III) and Herman, loving grandfather of Reuben IV and Isabella Pinkson, Aubrey Cornwell and Cora Sparks-Ballado, cherished brother of Aurelio (Mercy), Adelida Bo, Yolanda Salviejo, Violetta Thach (Kinh) and a host of nieces and nephews.
Herminio was born on April 7, 1941, to the late Manuel and Catalina (nee Banaag) in Santa Cruz, Laguna, Philippines. He earned his BS in Chemical Engineering from Adamson University, Manilla, Philippines in 1964. Subsequently in 1966 Herminio was certified from the Board of Examiners for Chemical Engineering, Republic of the Philippines. Herminio then immigrated to the United States in 1969 and worked in engineering support for many industries in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1970, he met and married his wife, Norma and moved his family to Cleveland Heights in 1971. With an entrepreneurial spirit he also began an import business, Pacific Eastern Inc. He enjoyed collecting antiques, cooking, gardening and working on multiple home projects.
Please meet for the Mass of Christian Burial Friday, Feb. 3, 2023, at St. Ann Catholic Church of Communion of Saints Parish (Cedar at Coventry) at 10 AM. Family will receive friends at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just East of Green Rd.) THURSDAY 3-5 AND 6-8 PM
