Mrs. Helena (Arnez) Gaser passed away December 26, 2012 at her residence in Richmond Hts. Born October 15, 1931 in Jesenice, Slovenia, she fled her homeland in 1945 after losing both her father and oldest brother and immigrated to the USA. She settled in Cleveland and became very active in the Slovenian community. She sang in the chorale group Korotan, the Happy Slovenians and St. Mary’s Church Choir. She also taught Slovenian at St. Mary’s Language School. She was a member of the Slovenska Pristava Pensioners Club and St. Mary’s Altar Society.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years Felix (Srecko); children Thomas (Annette), Joe (Martha), Andrew (Tammy) and Monika (Edwin) Visalden; grandchildren Rachael, Anna, Kati, Jacob, Luke, Natasha, Alexia, Diego, Sasha and Emilio; siblings Maria (Janez) Grum, Tone (Maria) Arnez and twin sister Pavla (Ivan) Hauptman; she was preceded in death by her parents Peter and Pavla Arnez and brother Peter Arnez.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday December 31, 2012 at St. Mary’s Church 15519 Holmes Ave. Cleveland, OH 44110. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon Township.
The Family will receive friends at THE ZEVNIK-COSIC FUNERAL HOME 28890 CHARDON RD. (BETWEEN BISHOP RD. AND RT. 91) WILLOUGHBY HILLS SUNDAY 2:00 – 8:00 P.M.
