Helen Mary Violet

Helen Mary (Kusar) Violet, 72, died March 2, 2012, with family by her side at St. Vincent’s Charity Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio.

Helen was born on October 23, 1939 in Euclid, Ohio, to Frank and Helen (Marsey) Kusar. She graduated from Kirtland High School in 1957 and married the love-of-her-life, career Navyman Donald W. Violet in 1963. Helen and Donald lived and traveled around the world, making wonderful friends and memories wherever life took them, including California, Maine, Tennessee, Virginia, Bermuda, and Cuba.

Her interests included gardening, crocheting and knitting, playing cards, ceramics, reading romance novels and playing with her Jack Russell Terrier, Patches.

Helen is survived by 9 sisters, Kathy Jurcago (John), Elizabeth Kusar, Loretta Brown (Richard), Carol Mahaffey (Jay), Joanne Ash (Tom), Susan Kusar, Marylou Mathews (Larry), Linda Kusar-Fischer (Darrell) and Frances Krugen (Mitch), and 2 brothers, Frank Kusar (Illa), and Richard Kusar (Donna), as well as 37 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, only now to be happily reunited again.

Calling hours for Helen will be held on Friday, March 9, 2012, from 4-8 PM at DeJohn Funeral Homes & Crematory of Chardon (formerly Ritondaro) 126 South St. (Rt. 44, south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square). Mass of Christian burial will be held the following day, March 10, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Parish in Chardon, Ohio followed by burial at All Souls Cemetery, 10366 Chardon Road, Chardon, Ohio.
