HELEN MARIE NOVAK (nee Royak) age 93, beloved wife of the late Joseph; loving mother of Sharon Churney (Thomas Swank), Daniel (Hope), and Nancy Barnes (Jay); devoted grandmother of Marie Orlando (Bill), Sarah Churney (Michael Ahmed), Nicholas (Sarah), Tiffany Martin (Chad), Amanda Gaskell (Bryant), Daniel (Katie Cox), Michael Barnes (Martha), and great-grandmother of 12; cherished daughter of the late Daniel and Mary (nee Gorna) Royak; dearest sister of the late Katherine Woodard, Pauline Stefanski, Willy Royak, and Edward Royak.
Helen was born on June 23, 1928 in Cleveland, Ohio and passed away on January 24, 2022 in Florida. She resided in Palm Bay, Florida for 7 years and prior to that Willowick, Ohio for 58 years. She was a home maker and a member of Wickliffe Council on Aging where she served many years as head cook. Helen was also a member of St. Mary Magdalene Church. Helen’s favorite music was Polkas and she loved dancing with her husband Joe. Bingo and fishing were some of her favorite hobbies. She loved her home and enjoyed being around her grandkids. Helen also loved to laugh, had a wonderful laugh and beautiful dimples. She loved Christmas, cracking eggs on Easter, and making her homemade soup. Helen will be remembered most as a loving, caring, and generous woman who had a great sense of humor. She took care of others and didn’t give up easily. Helen was a strong person and will be dearly missed.
Celebration of Life Service Saturday February 5, 2022, at 1 PM at THE FUNERAL HOME. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Helen at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON RD. (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) SATURDAY 11 AM – 1 PM.
