HELEN R. HUMPAL (nee Taubert) age 59, beloved wife for 27 years of Steve; loving stepmother of Jessica Pinkston (husband Phil); devoted grandmother of Jaydn, Sierra and Sienna; cherished daughter of Theodore Taubert (wife Nadine) and the late Rae Alice (nee Erbor); dearest sister of Carrie Bacso (husband David), Timothy Taubert (wife Pamela) and stepsister of Nancy Wright (husband Dennis, deceased), Frederick Huegel (wife Ann) and William Huegel (wife Sherry); dear aunt and great-aunt of many.
Helen was born on May 11, 1958 in Cleveland and passed away on November 25, 2017 at her home in Rock Creek where Helen has resided for 26 years. She was formerly a resident of Concord and was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Chardon. Helen graduated from Brush High School and was the owner/operator of For the Birds a retail wild bird feeding store. She loved running the store for 15 years and enjoyed the friendship of many customers. Helen also worked at Quail Hollow Hotel grounds. She loved bird watching, gardening, landscaping, farming and riding motorcycles. Helen will be remembered most as a loving, positive and friendly woman. She truly enjoyed the outdoors and nature, enjoying hiking her property and many parks. Helen was a wildlife and wild bird enthusiast who loved watching and photographing birds and wildlife. Helen will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Helen to Geauga Park District’s Naturalist Department 9160 Robinson Rd., Chardon, OH 44024.
Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Celebration of Life Service Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 2:30 PM at St. Mary’s Church 401 North St., Chardon, OH 44024. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Helen at St. Mary’s Church on SATURDAY 1-2:30 PM. Arrangements by THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY OF CHARDON (formerly Ritondaro).
