HELEN BENCHEK (nee Lyczko) age 96, beloved wife of the late Jacob; loving mother of Thomas, James (wife Cindy), and the late William; devoted grandmother of Brian (wife Penny), Daniel, Michael, Matthew, Katherine Spaw (husband Erick), Amy Sitler (husband Louis), James (wife Jenna) and great-grandmother of Jonah, Julien, Jessica, and Hailey; dearest sister of the late Edward Lyczko, Dorothy Yarrow, Betty Strauss, and Kathleen Miller; dear aunt and great-aunt of many.
Helen was born on March 7, 1923 in Cleveland and passed away on September 4, 2019. She was a resident of Mayfield Heights her whole life and was a parishioner of St. Clare Catholic Church. Helen belonged to the Karlin Club and the Mayfield Heights Golden Age Club. She attended John Hay High School and graduated in 1941. Helen proudly worked as an Office Clerk for Lincoln Electric. She enjoyed dancing to Polkas and traveling around the United States and Europe. Helen was kind, loving, hardworking, social, friendly, and had a good sense of humor. She was devoted to her family. Helen will be dearly missed by all.
