Hayward L. Sims, Sr.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Hayward L. Sims, a devoted husband, father, and cherished friend to many, who was born on Jan. 21, 1943, and left us on February 5, 2025. Born with a spirit for adventure and a quest for knowledge, Hayward served as Superintendent for the East Cleveland Schools and dedicated his life to his family, friends, and community leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him. He was a United States Navy Veteran. He leaves behind his son, Hayward L. Sims Jr, “Duke” (Christine), and many nieces and nephews. Hayward's legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Private family services.
