Harry O. Deatherage, 89, of Burton passed away July, 22, 2013, in Chardon. He was born Dec. 16, 1923, in Beardstown, Ill.
Harry was a World War II U.S. Army-Air Corps Veteran. A former resident of Prescott, Ariz., for 21 years, he was active in Habitat for Humanity until his move to Burton about five years ago.
He was vice president of finance at Industrial Electronic Rubber. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, hiking, playing Bridge, reading and watching sports. Harry will be remembered as a nice, happy, outgoing and energetic guy.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marilee (nee Knebel); sons, Stephen (Pergentina) of Burton and Andrew of Florida; grandchildren, Daniel, Matthew (Kelly) and Hannah; sister, June Adair of Texas; daughter-in-law, Dierdre; and many dear friends.
Harry was preceded in death by son, Peter H.
Graveside Service will be 4 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2013, at Welton Cemetery, 13970 Goodwin Ave., Burton.
