Gretchen A Grimm

GRETCHEN A. GRIMM (nee Young) age 84, beloved wife for 60 years of the late James R. Grimm, Sr.; loving mother of Deborah Zako (Tony Indiano), James R. Grimm, Jr. (Kathleen Lewis) and Susan Grimm (Dennis Lory); devoted grandmother of Catherine Bell (husband Robert), Brian (wife Megan) and Steven Zako, Bailey (deceased), Kirsten and Sydney Grimm, Brandon McEwen (wife Jackie), and Timothy Pillot (fiancé Megan) and great-grandmother of nine; cherished daughter of the late Anthony and Genevieve (nee Moning) Young; dearest sister of the late Boyd Young (wife Jean deceased); dear sister-in-law, aunt and great-aunt of many. 

Gretchen was born on October 8, 1939 in Cleveland, Ohio and graduated from Brush High School in 1957.  She has been a resident of Mayfield Heights since 1966.  Gretchen found great happiness as a homemaker and being lovingly devoted to her children and grandchildren.  Sewing, ceramics, crafts, bowling and cheering on the Cleveland Browns also kept her busy. Traveling with her husband brought her great enjoyment. Gretchen passed away on May 20, 2024, but will live on in the loving memories of those who knew her best.

Graveside Service Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 10 AM at Knollwood Cemetery, 1678 SOM Center Road, Mayfield Heights, Ohio. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Gretchen at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.)  MONDAY  2-5PM.
