GLEN A. WEINBERGER age 71, died suddenly at his home July 16, 2015. Beloved husband for 48 years of Cheryl (nee Sanson); loving father of Lisa Kaminski (husband Bryan) and Kelly Misch (husband David); devoted grandfather of Juliana, Brooke and Sofia; treasured son of the late Richard and Marcella (nee LeVee); cherished brother of Richard and Robert (wife Melinda); dearest brother-in-law of Michael Sanson (wife Kathryn); dear uncle and great-uncle of many. U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran.

Glen was born September 27, 1943 in Chicago, IL.  His family moved to Mayfield Heights and he graduated from Mayfield High School in 1961.  Glen attended Fenn College and joined the US Army in December 1967.  He served his country proudly during the Vietnam War and in 2013 he spoke to his granddaughter’s entire school about his time in the war.  Glen was a writer and journalist for the Plain Dealer and a Sales Representative for the automotive industry.  In his spare time, Glen enjoyed golf, bowling, tennis and dancing.  He was also a big sports fan, especially for the Indians, Browns and Cavs.  Glen also loved traveling, whether to Amish country for his birthday to Florida in the fall and to Hawaii.  He will be remembered as a lover of nature and animals, a compassionate, generous and giving man and for his sense of humor.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Glen’s memory to the charity of your choice.

Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Celebration of Life Service with Military Honors will be Saturday July 25, 2015 at 1 PM at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91). Luncheon will follow services.

Private burial will take place at a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Glen SATURDAY MORNING 10-1:00 PM.
