Gladys M. McCauley

December 9, 1949 — May 6, 2024

Gladys M. McCauley

The world was blessed with the birth of a very wonderful and beautiful soul. On December 9, 1949, Gladys McCauley (nee McCary), aged 74, was born to the late Frank and Elzora (nee Parker) McCary. She was the second daughter of this union and was raised in Cleveland, Ohio.

Gladys loved learning and was very academic. She attended Cleveland public schools, which culminated with graduation from Glenville High School in January 1968. She was regularly active during those school years, particularly in the high school band. In addition, she also received bachelor's and master’s degrees from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. She worked in various positions as a guidance counselor and eventually retired from Cleveland Heights High School in July 2015.

In 1975 she met her future husband, Edward McCauley. After a brief courtship, they were married on November 26, 1977. From this union they were blessed with three daughters, twins Maya and Shayna McCauley, and then Gabrielle McCauley. Gladys really enjoyed cooking and made great meals. In fact, she made the best German chocolate cake. Also, she liked sewing, bowling, playing Scrabble, woodworking, listening to smooth jazz, dancing, and traveling over the years.

What gave Gladys the most joy in life was her worship and service to Jehovah God. On October 29, 1983, she became a dedicated baptized servant of Jehovah God. She enjoyed serving many years as a full-time regular pioneer. She loved the ministry, and she assisted others to dedication and baptism over the years. She loved teaching the Bible to people to help them gain an accurate knowledge of God.

During her years in godly service she gained many friendships, especially loving spiritual brothers and sisters. She was a bright spot in people’s lives and a truly kind, compassionate, and loving soul. People really enjoyed her friendship and their time spent with her. To say that Gladys will be missed is truly an understatement.

Sadly, Gladys fell asleep in death on May 6, 2024. Gladys leaves behind her beloved husband Ed after 46 years of marriage. Her dear daughters Maya, Shayna, and Gabrielle. Her siblings, Maudest Watkins (John deceased), Wyman McCary I (Carol, both deceased), Andrew McCary (deceased), Ted McCary (Dorella), and Diane McCary. As well as a host of nephews and nieces and over eight and half million spiritual brothers and sisters around the world.

A Favorite Scripture of Gladys
Revelation 21:4-5
“4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” 5 And the One seated on the throne said: “Look! I am making all things new.” Also he says: “Write, for these words are faithful and true.”
