GLADYS M. HADDAD, age 89, beloved daughter of the late Fred and Rose (nee Amor); loving sister of the late Phillip; dearest cousin of George Haddad, Anthony Asher, Rosemary Asher, and the late Richard Haddad; friend of many.
Gladys was born in Cleveland on September 12, 1930 and passed away on June 2, 2020. She was a resident of South Euclid since 1975, and was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Gladys graduated from Cleveland Heights High School in 1948, and earned a degree from Allegheny College in Pennsylvania, followed by a PhD from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU). She was well-respected as a teacher in the South Euclid-Lyndhurst school district and as a Professor of Women’s Studies at CWRU. She was an avid reader, writer, and historian, and she authored two books. Gladys was dignified and intelligent, social and friendly. She was devoted to her faith, her family, and her friends, and will be remembered fondly by those who were touched by her.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Gladys to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 2747 Fairmount Blvd., Cleveland Hts., OH 44106 or Hospice of the Western Reserve, P.O. Box 72101, Cleveland, OH 44192. A Service in Thanksgiving for the life of Gladys will be held Friday, June 5, 2020 at the Funeral Home at 12:30 PM. (MASKS REQUIRED.) Private burial will take place at Lake View Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Gladys at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) FRIDAY 11:30AM-12:30PM.
