Geraldine M. Nagel

GERALDINE NAGEL (nee Artino), 83, of Lyndhurst, Ohio passed away on August 20th, 2024, after a lifetime struggle with Crohn’s Disease. 

Geri was born on September 12th, 1940, to Sam and Madeline Artino in Cleveland, Ohio. After graduating from Brush High School in 1958, she studied English at Miami University where she also played drums in the band. Post graduation, she shared her love of proper grammar by becoming a middle school English teacher.

When she was just 10 years old, Geri met her neighbor across the street, Al Nagel, who she married 16 years later in 1965, and they had 2 children: Steven and Jeffery. 

Geri enjoyed supporting her favorite sports teams, yelling at the refs, collecting friends and turtles, threatening her adult children with the wooden spoon, reminding us all that she “could still high kick” into her eighties, and appreciating the beauty of the birds and other small creatures outside her window. 

Geri is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 59 years, Al; her (self-proclaimed) handsome, talented, and brilliant children, Steve (Nikki Stuart), and Jeff (wife, Colleen Carver); her beloved sister, Barbara; and a beautifully caring extended family. 

She was loved and will be deeply missed.

Prayers of Christian Burial Saturday, August 24, 2024 AT THE FUNERAL HOME at 12:30 PM. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Geraldine at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) SATURDAY MORNING 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM.
