GEORGE F. POPE, JR., age 83, beloved husband for 29 years of Joanna (nee Zupancic); loving father of Garry (wife Lyn), Michael, Jayme (wife Sheri), Denise Drobny (husband Jack, Jr) and the late Dennis; devoted grandfather of Michael, Amanda (husband Everett), Joseph, Jessica, Sarah, Sarah, Jacob, Olivia, Grace, Jack, III, Aaron and great-grandfather of Giuliana, Caleb, Chloe, Brian and Peyton; cherished son of the late Louise (nee Leonetti) and George Pope, Sr.; dearest son-in-law of Mildred and the late Rudy Zupancic; treasured brother of the late Rita Costanzo (husband Vince, deceased); dear uncle and great uncle of many. Korean Conflict U.S. Army Veteran, Purple Heart Recipient.
George was born on February 1, 1932 in Cleveland and passed away September 22, 2015. He graduated from Benedictine High School, attended John Carroll University and was a U.S. Postal Carrier for more than 37 years. George enjoyed cheering on the Cleveland Browns and Indians, golfing, fishing, playing pinochle and the slot machines. He was full of life, very energetic and hardworking. George’s family and friends will miss his patient, loveable and easy-going nature.

Mass of Christian Burial Monday, September 28, 2015 at St. Mary Catholic Church at 10 AM. Burial following with military honors at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of George at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) SUNDAY 1-6 PM.
