George H. Olic

GEORGE H. OLIC age 84, passed away on December 9, 2024. George was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 15, 1940, to George and Sarah, and lived in Willowick for 57 years. After graduating from John Adams High School, he served as a Second Class Aviation Electronics Technician in the US Navy. George continued his education at Cleveland State University (Fenn College), where he received a bachelor's degree as an Electrical Engineer. After 36 years of service, George retired from ABB (Bailey Meter) as a Senior Project Manager.

He is survived by his daughter Traci Ann, his fur companion Mr. Nubs, and many family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Rosemarie "Roz" A. (nee Nowak) and parents, George and Sarah (nee Hartman) Olic.

Along with pursuing an active career as an accomplished engineer and manager, George has made a lifetime commitment to working as a volunteer in his community and local politics. As a member of the Willowick Recreation Board, George worked to promote and provide quality sporting activities for adults and children in the community. He served as president and treasurer of the Willowick Football Association organizing and implementing a flag football program for area kids. George acted as campaign manager for council and mayoral campaigns and was also active as President and District Vice President for the Willowick Jaycees.

George enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling, volleyball, baseball, hockey, basketball, as well as watching the Cleveland Indians, Browns and Cavaliers.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of George to the Lake County Humane Society.

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, January 18, 2025, at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 32114 Vine St, Willowick, OH 44095, at 10:30 AM.
