George J. Mohr, Iii

GEORGE J. MOHR, III age 68, beloved husband for nearly 25 years of Lynett (nee Cooke); loving father of Tammy (Brian) Wendl, Dawn (Brian) Kline, George J. (Kristi) Mohr, IV, Heather (Gale) Knight, Mindy (Willie) Haines, and the late Keira Mohr; devoted grandfather of Brian “Goonie” (Kali), Caitlin (Seth), Brandon, Kyle, Harlee, Bradley, Tanner, Xander, Fifi, Layla, and Max; cherished son of the late George J., Jr. and Helen (nee Faulk); dearest brother of the late Keith (Pat) Mohr uncle and great-uncle of many.

George was born on November 11, 1952 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and passed away on June 22, 2021 surrounded by his family. Growing up in Pittsburgh, he graduated from Shaler High School and continued his education to become a mechanical engineer. His career took him from Pittsburgh every day to Perry, Ohio to work at Perry Nuclear Power Plant. He was truly the jack of all trades. He was great at woodworking and fixing everyone’s car and was passionate about his time spent as a firefighter for Montville, OH. On August 17, 1996 he married Lynett and together they enjoyed vacations to Disney, going on cruises, and square dancing. He also liked spending time fishing with the grandchildren at their house, having his toes painted bright colors by his granddaughter, watching the grandchildren Boy/Girl Scout and sporting events. George cooked every holiday meal and was known for always leaving the t.v. on, whether he was watching and rooting for his Pittsburg Steelers or having it on simply for background noise. He was an amazing man. He set the perfect example of how to treat your wife and how to leave a person better than you found them. George was a devoted husband, dad, papa and friend, and for this he will be dearly missed.
