GEORGE W. EDGAR age 80, beloved husband of the late Janice (nee Zupancic); loving father of Elizabeth (Amilcar) Hernandez, Mary (John) Godfrey, Catherine (Bernard) Harrigan, and Michael (Katherine); devoted grandfather of Isaac, Sebastian, Leo, George, Ella, Maeve, and Sylvia; cherished son of the late Donald and Lois (nee Alldridge) Winzer; dearest brother of Dr. Thomas (Lynn) and the late John; dear uncle and great-uncle.

George was born on August 15, 1943, in New Castle, Pennsylvania and was an active resident of Geauga County for over 40 years. After graduating from Shaw High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served as a radioman in the Beach Jumper Unit. Upon his honorable discharge, George continued his education at John Carroll University and eventually earned his MBA from Case Western Reserve University. He retired from East Ohio Gas and devoted time to local services within his community, especially the Chardon School Board and Geauga County Board of Mental Health and Recovery. Strong in his faith, he was an active parishioner of St. Helen Catholic Church. Above all things, he was a proud father and loved being a father and grandfather. On May 28, 2024, George passed away leaving his family missing his great sense of humor and everlasting presence.
