George A. Debrody

GEORGE A. DeBRODY, age 78; beloved husband for 56 years of Marie (nee Sichko); loving father of Susann Stergios (husband J. Fred) and the late David K.; devoted grandfather of Leah Rose (fiancé Joel Duncan), Jason Stergios and Alexis Purses; devoted son of the late Joseph and Martha (nee Hambroski); cherished brother of Martha Mullen and the late Steve, Clara Murphy, John, Joseph and Helen Stebok; dear brother-in-law, uncle and great-uncle of many.

George was resident of Wickliffe and a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church since 1961. He was active as an usher, a lector and choir member. Previously residing in Cleveland, George worked as a machinist for Lincoln Electric. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, flying kites, fishing, bird watching, and cooking. His favorite activities were playing Santa Claus and singing with his family. Many will remember him as a great cook (especially breakfast and Thanksgiving) who loved his family, gave generously, forgave others, enjoyed life, had a positive attitude and never had a bad word for anyone.

Mass of Christian Burial Monday, September 30, 2013 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church at 10 AM. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of George at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) SUNDAY 1-3 & 4-6 PM.
