GEORGE A. KISTNER age 85, beloved husband for 49 years of the late Marian (nee Sciarrabba); loving father of Maureen Latkovich (husband Rick), Kevin (wife Debra), and the late Patricia Makuch (husband Ritchie); devoted grandfather of Kristen Marino (fiancé Thomas Moore), Nicole Heaton, Miles Kistner (wife Kristen), Deanna Latkovich and great-grandfather of Alex, Vince, Adriana, Lincoln, Kylie, and Jacob; cherished son of the late Frank and Wanda (nee Lucas); preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters; dear uncle and great-uncle of many. U.S. Air Force Veteran.

George was born on August 29, 1935 in Cleveland and passed away on July 17, 2021. He was a resident of Mayfield Heights, Willoughby Hills, and most recently Eastlake for 20 years. George was a parishioner of St. Noel Catholic Church since 1980 and a proud U.S. Airforce Veteran. He courageously served his country in the Military Intelligence Division. George belonged to the Willoughby Hills VFW Post 4358, where he was a past Commander. He was also a member of the Eagles Club for many years. George was a very accomplished man.  One of his most proud projects was spearheading the construction of the Willoughby Hills Veterans Memorial. He graduated from Benedictine High School in 1953 and went on to Case Western Reserve University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. George was the proud owner and operator of his tax accounting and insurance business. He greatly enjoyed golfing in his free time and was an avid Ohio State University Buckeyes fan. George loved all Cleveland sports teams. He also enjoyed listening to opera, classical, and German music. George liked to travel, especially his trips around the U.S., England, and Canada. He was very caring, generous, and giving. George was social with a great sense of humor. He adored his grandkids, was a devoted husband and father. George will be dearly missed by all.

Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at 10AM at St. Noel Catholic Church at Sacred Heart Chapel on Borromeo Campus, 28700 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe, OH 44092. Burial following with Military Honors at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of George at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) TUESDAY AUGUST 3, 4-8 PM.
