GARY S. FATICA, age 63, beloved husband of Susan (nee Sidano); loving father of Thomas (wife Sibylla) of Switzerland and Antoinette Fatica (fiancé James Ciricillo); devoted grandfather of Antonia Fatica, Antonio, Angelina and Michael John Iannacone; cherished son of the late Antonio and Nina (nee Costello) Fatica; dearest brother of Anthony (wife Annette); treasured uncle of Victoria Cunningham (Tim), Nino and great-uncle of 4; fond nephew of Mary Ann Dercole (Gene) and preceded in death by many aunts and uncles; dear father-in-law of Michael Iannacone; dear cousin and friend of many.
Gary lived in Highland Heights for the past 30 years, previously residing in South Euclid. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1972. He graduated from Kent State University and received his Master’s Degree from Ohio University.
Gary was a former Councilman of Highland Heights. He was a coach and teacher at Solon High School and also coached and taught at Mayfield High School. Gary loved football and was a fan of the Cleveland Browns. He loved cooking, dancing and travelling – especially to Switzerland. His favorite music was Motown and Disco.
His grandkids were the joy of his life. Gary was funny, happy, loving, supportive, creative, friendly and entertaining and also as a jokester who was the life of the party.
Mass of Christian Burial Monday, May 18, 2015 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church at 11:30 AM. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Gary at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) SUNDAY 2-7 PM.
