Gabriel Zakelj

GABRIEL ZAKELJ, age 79, cherished son of the late Jakob and Marija (nee Bogataj) Zakelj; dearest brother of Maria “Mimi” Stefancic (husband Vinko, deceased), Mario Zakel (wife Cathy), and John Zakelj (wife Ann, deceased) the late Jakob “Rado” Zakelj; dear uncle and great-uncle of many. U.S. Army veteran.  

Gabriel was born on March 3, 1945, in Slovenia. He attended Cathedral Latin School of Cleveland, Ohio and graduated in 1964. Gabriel was an avid reader and enjoyed both science and historical fiction novels. He is remembered by friends and family for his generosity and contagious laughter.

Mass of Christian Burial Monday, December 30, 2024 at St. Vitus Catholic Church, 6019 Lausche Ave, Cleveland, Ohio at 11 AM. Inurnment with Military Honors will be held at a later date.
