Frieda Mary Bodwell

FRIEDA MARY “PUDGE” BODWELL (nee Fischer) age 78, beloved wife for 59 years of B. Richard “Dick”, former Chagrin Falls mayor; loving mother of Bradley “Brad” (wife Vicki), Elizabeth “Beth” Brown (husband Mark) and Gregory; devoted grandmother of Brian (Stephanie) and Mitchell Brown, Fischer, Henry, and Wesley Bodwell; daughter of the late William and Winifred (nee Thomas) Fischer; sister of the late Joan Wise and Jean Melter; dear aunt and great-aunt of many.

Frieda was a longtime resident of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and passed away peacefully with family by her side on December 14, 2016. She held leadership roles in the Chagrin Falls Alumni Association and Chaville and Chagrinites dance clubs and was active in the Western Reserve Women’s Republican Club and the Chagrin Valley Women’s Club, through which she volunteered at the Sassy Cat. She is remembered by many as a bright, beautiful, warm, and fun-loving woman and friend.

Celebration of Life Service in memory of Frieda will take place Saturday December 17, 2016 at 11 AM at Parkside Church, 7100 Pettibone Road, Chagrin Falls, OH 44023. Private burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Chagrin Falls. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Frieda following services at Parkside Church.
