FREDRIC E. KRAMER, ESQ., age 87, beloved husband for 63 years of the late Merici Paulus Kramer; loving father of Kathryn Stibrick (husband Richard), Deborah Kramer, Fredric Kramer, Kim Howman (husband Brian) and Laura Rubadue (husband James); devoted grandfather of Samantha Kramer, Allison Stibrick Love (husband Austin), Andrew Kramer, Michael Stibrick, Daniel Kramer, Emma Rubadue, Meghan Stibrick Grote (husband Michael), Claire Rubadue, Elizabeth Rubadue, Robert Kramer, James Rubadue, Owen Howman, and Sarah Howman; cherished son of the late Edward and Marcella (nee Stein) Kramer; dearest brother of Mary Jo Kramer (husband George Fleming, deceased), Edward Kramer (wife Mary Ann) and the late John Kramer (wife Jacqueline); treasured son-in-law of the late Clarence and Alice (nee Lang) Paulus; dearest brother-in-law of Trina Paulus, John and Gladys Paulus, and David and Marlene Paulus; dear uncle and great-uncle of many. 

Fred was born on June 14, 1937, in Cleveland, Ohio and graduated from Saint Joseph High School in 1955. He attended John Carrol University and received his B.S.S. in 1959 and continued his education at Case Western Reserve University where he earned his Bachelor of Laws Degree in 1962. Fred retired from the firm of McNeal, Schick, Archibald, & Biro Co., L.P.A. where he worked as an attorney specializing in civil litigation. Fred was a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, having served as Trustee of The Cleveland Bar from 1987 to 1990 and Chair of the Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee. Fred was a member of many bar professional organizations including Life Member of the Eighth District Judicial Conference and was a Master Bencher Emeritus of the William K. Thomas Inn of Court. 

Strong in his faith, he served as the Vice President of the Diocesan Board of Education of the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland. In his early years he was a member and attended St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church and School. Fred and Mer initially belonged to St. Clare Catholic Church and joined St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in 1969 where they were involved in many activities through the years. Most recently, he volunteered at the St. Francis Festival and the Food Ministry.

Fred proudly served the City of Mayfield Heights for 45 years on the Board of Zoning Appeals. He was also a member of the Master Planning Commission; The Bicentennial Commission; Chair of the Levy Campaign for the Mayfield School System; Trustee of Mayfield Regional Friends of the Library; Secretary of the Mayfield Area Chamber of Commerce and was a longtime member of the Mayfield Heights Jaycees and legal counsel for the Ohio Jaycees. 

Fred found enjoyment in golfing, reading, and community service. He also enjoyed traveling especially to Europe, Florida, Oglebay, and all 50 states. He will be remembered for his work ethic, integrity, social personality, and wonderful sense of humor. Fred’s strong devotion to his wife and family, his faith and love of learning, and his passion for being a lawyer will forever be his legacy. Fred passed away suddenly on June 18, 2024, leaving his family missing him beyond measure. 

Contributions may be made in memory of Fred to the Carroll Fund at John Carroll University, 1 John Carroll Blvd., University Heights, Ohio 44118. Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Relatives and friends are requested to meet for the Mass of Christian Burial Monday, June 24, 2024 at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6850 Mayfield Rd, Gates Mills, OH 44040 at 11:30 AM. Private burial will take place on a later date at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Fred at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME OF CHESTERLAND, 12811 Chillicothe Road (Rt. 306), Chesterland, Ohio SUNDAY 1 PM - 6 PM.
