Frederick W. Dynys

FREDERICK W. DYNYS age 64, died suddenly May 31, 2021; beloved husband for 38 years of Marilyn (nee Farmer); loving father of Christopher Dynys (Danielle Gordon), Anne Salzgeber (husband Scott), and Kimberly Dynys (Chad Slater); devoted grandfather of Shain Gordon; cherished son of the late Joseph and Norma (nee Bialy); dearest brother of Edward, Joseph (wife Shelley), and Steven (wife Sharon); dear son-in-law of Harry Farmer (wife Ann) and the late Delores Farmer; cherished brother-in-law of Robert Farmer (wife Susan) and the late Raymond Farmer (Lisa); devoted nephew of Stella Dynys; dear uncle and great-uncle of many.

Fred was born on October 10, 1956 in Jamestown, New York, and passed away on May 31, 2021.  He was a resident of Chagrin Falls for the past 37 years, and prior to that, he lived in Jamestown until he went to college.  Fred graduated from Jamestown High School, received his bachelor’s degree from Alfred University, his master’s from Penn State University, and his PhD from Case Western Reserve University.  Fred proudly worked in ceramics at NASA Glenn Research Center, at General Electric for 20 years prior to that, and worked with the Cleveland Clinic.  He worked on space shuttle tiles at NASA and lithium batteries to power jets with the Department of Defense.  At the Cleveland Clinic he worked on a ceramic hip replacement project, working to find improvements with the current materials used in replacements. Fred was a family man, everything he did was with his family and for his family.  In his spare time, he greatly enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing, and remodeling.  As a young boy, Fred would go hunting and fishing with his brothers and dad.  Fred enjoyed watching local sporting events, especially the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns.  He also enjoyed listening to classic rock. Fred cherished spending time with his family and dogs, and adored his childhood dog, Humphrey.  Any moment with his loved ones, was a special moment.  Fred was a family man, fun-loving, reserved, a devoted father and husband.  “There was nothing he didn’t think he couldn’t fix.” He spent time on work, with his family, and his weekend projects, and he loved collecting his Home Depot buckets.  Fred will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Tribute Service Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 12 Noon at THE FUNERAL HOME. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Fred at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.)  TUESDAY 11 AM UNTIL TIME OF SERVICE.
