Frank Zernic

FRANK M. ZERNIC age 91, beloved husband of the late Eleanor B. (nee Turocy); loving father of Michael J. (wife Monica); devoted grandfather of Mikayla and Max Zernic; cherished son of the late Michael and Josephine (nee Sustercic) Zernic; dearest brother of the late Rose Pakish (husband Frank, deceased) and Joseph Zernic (wife Jane); dear uncle and great-uncle of many. WWII U.S. Navy Veteran.

Frank was born on July 30, 1925 in Cleveland and passed away on February 16, 2017. He was a 19 year resident of Highland Heights, formerly of Cleveland. Frank was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church in Collinwood where he was a member of the Holy Name Society and St. Mary’s Seniors. Frank was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and Holmes Avenue Seniors. He graduated from Collinwood High School and worked for Eaton and TRW. Frank loved gardening, playing pinochle and poker, and going on casino bus trips. He will be remembered most as a generous, hardworking and faith-centered man who had Slovenian wit. Frank will be dearly missed.

Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, February 23, 2017 at St. Mary Catholic Church at 10 AM. Burial with Military Honors at Calvary Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Frank at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) WEDNESDAY 3-8 PM.
