Frank Urankar

FRANK URANKAR age 92, beloved husband for 64 years of Antonia (nee Gosar); loving father of Ann Marie Luzar (husband Ernest, deceased), Joseph (wife Sue), Antoinette Robinette (husband James) and Frank (wife Deborah); devoted grandfather of Ernest Luzar IV, Angela Luzar (deceased), Alex Urankar (wife Elizabeth), Gregory Urankar, James Robinette, Jr. (wife Melissa), Katie Nutter (husband Matthew), Kristy Rolf (husband Randy), Brian Mannello and great-grandfather of Ryan, Ben, Zack, Blake, Melanie, Parker and Cody; cherished son of the late Joze and Katarina (nee Krajnc); preceded in death by 4 brothers and 7 sisters; dear uncle and great-uncle of many.

Frank was born on January 27, 1925 in Maribor, Slovenia and passed away on March 21, 2017. He was a resident of Concord for 13 years, formerly of Richmond Heights. Frank was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church for over 60 years where he was a lector. He was a member of Pristava and Holy Name Society. Frank went to school in Slovenia, came to the United States of America in 1950 and married the love of his life Antonia in 1952. He was a Captain Deputy Sheriff for the Cuyahoga County Sheriff Department. Frank loved traveling to Europe and Florida, gardening, helping others and loved to sing. He adored his grandchildren and was a friendly, hardworking and well respected man. Frank was giving and generous of his time. He will be greatly missed.

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, March 25, 2017 at St. Mary Catholic Church at 10 AM. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Frank at THE ZEVNIK-COSIC FUNERAL HOME, 28890 CHARDON ROAD, WILLOUGHBY HILLS (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) FRIDAY 3-5 & 6-8 PM.
