Frank was born and raised outside of Pittsburgh. He left his home to move in with a cousin over a bar at age 16 to begin work at a family business. He started off at S and Z Tool and Die Company sweeping floors while in high school. At that time he was one of twenty employees. After he was drafted into the United Starts Army, they married in 1954 while Frank was one leave. Frank and Edith lived in the same home in Highland Heights for over sixty years. He and Edith raised two sons and he impressed upon them a strong work ethic, old fashioned values and a dedication to the people you love.
Frank was devoted to his family. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren, visiting and talking. After his family and work, his passions were hunting and fishing. He enjoyed golfing and playing cards. He is remembered for his poker face.
He started his career as a quiet and reserved man and evolved into a charismatic and outgoing leader. Those who worked for him said he was tough but fair.
