Frank T. “Buster” Oravecz

FRANK T. “BUSTER” ORAVECZ, age 97; beloved husband for 67 years of Jennie (nee Koren); loving father of Mark (wife Kathy), Frank C. “Bubba” and Valerie Semperger ; devoted grandfather of Lisa Simpkins (husband Raymond), Todd Oravecz, Dillon Semperger and great-grandfather of Grant; cherished son of the late Frank and Catherine (nee Babula); dearest brother of George, Stanley, Helen Davis, Andrew and the late Mary Modrak, John, Michael, Martin, Joseph, Thomas, Rose Kemp and Stephen; dear uncle and great-uncle of many.

A World War II US Army Veteran and Pearl Harbor Survivor, Frank belonged to the American Legion Post #7. He was also a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church as well as the Wickliffe Hall of Fame and Knights of Columbus. Previously employed as a service technician for the Towmotor Company (currently known as Caterpillar), Frank enjoyed gardening, boxing, Class A Baseball and played for St. Louis Browns (Baltimore Orioles). His family will remember him fondly as a unique man who was passionate, caring, driven, unselfish and willing to give of himself.

Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church (Wickliffe) at 10 AM. Burial with Military Honors at Western Reserve Memorial Garden Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Buster at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) MONDAY 3-5 & 6-8 PM.
