FRANK R. GERMANA, age 97, beloved husband for 66 years of the late Rose (nee Gentile); loving father of Geralann “Gigi” Augusta (husband John) and Tina Linder; devoted grandfather of Matthew (wife Uniqua “Nini”), Ryan and Joseph Augusta, Alison Chessar (husband Joseph), Jared and Alyssa Linder; cherished son of the late Biagio and Marie (nee Sartorio); dearest brother of the late James (wife Theresa) and Rosemarie DiPalma; dear uncle and great-uncle of many. WWII US Army-Air Corp Veteran.
Frank was born August 24, 1926 in Cleveland and graduated in 1944 from John Adams High School. When Uncle Sam called, he proudly served during WWII in the US Army-Air Corp. Following the war, he pursued and excelled at carpentry and was a long-standing member of the Carpenters Union. Frank’s carpentry skills extended into his hobbies of designing and building model airplanes, model ships, along with mandolins, guitars, and any requests his family asked for. Frank loved to spend time with his family and always looked forward to Sunday dinners. People were drawn to Frank because of his charming personality and engaging sense of humor. He would often make up funny words and sayings that will live on. He loved watching Cleveland sports, playing Pinochle, watching old westerns, blasting polka music and the occasional shot of Crown. His children and grandchildren will long remember him for the endless laughs and stories of the past. Frank passed away on May 7, 2024.
