Frank Cercelle

FRANK C. CERCELLE, aged 92 years, dearly beloved husband for 57 years to Margaret (nee Betz), dear father of Timothy (wife Audrey), loving grandfather of Christopher and Ryan, devoted son of the late Carmen and Carmela (nee Gentilcore), cherished brother of the late Ralph J. and Marie Ryan (husband Lawrence – deceased), treasured uncle and great-uncle.  United States Army Veteran.

Frank was born Francis Charles Cercelle on Oct. 7, 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio. He was the son of the late Carmen and Carmela (nee Gentilcore) Cercelle. He was a graduate of East Tech High School, and Fenn College School of Engineering. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. His work career as a mechanical engineer began with Cleveland Graphite Bronze, continued with Gould Inc., and ended with retirement from Stewart Warner Alemite. He was a 50+ year resident of Lyndhurst, and a long-time member of St. Clare Catholic Parish. Frank possessed a keen intellect, had an intense love for people, and was very devoted to his family. He was an especially “super Pa-Pa” to his two grandsons, Christopher and Ryan. He attended as many of their sporting events as he could, involving baseball, football and basketball. Frank had played minor league baseball at Brookside Park in Cleveland, and was a devoted player, coach and fan of baseball his entire life. He was an avid reader, was very well informed on current and past events, and did extensive traveling for his work.

His love and concern for his family was his top priority. He loved the traditional Christmas and Christmas Eve Italian dinners and get-togethers. His love of good food, especially the Italian and Polish meals, was evident to all who joined him at the table.
