Francis E. “BOOMER” Lewin Passed away February 7, 2014 at Hillcrest Hospital. Mr. Lewin was born June 9, 1929 in Macgregor, Manitoba, Canada, where he was a hockey player in his youth. He traveled the world with the Merchant Marines before settling in the Toronto area where he served as a police officer. He moved to Northeast Ohio with his family in 1957 where he was a member of Teamsters Local 407, retiring from Yellow Freight in 1995. A member of The American Power Boat Association (APBA), he was an avid boat racer in The U.S.A. and Canada for many years. He and his wife Adrienne were pleasure boaters who could often be seen in their black Checkmate (Boomer).

Mr. Lewin leaves behind his best friend Adrienne, whom he married in 1991. He is also survived by a daughter, Debra (Paul) Ferguson of Etobicoke, Ontario, son Paul (Diane) Lewin of Madison Ohio, granddaughter Kathryn (Zach) Barnhouse, great grandson Brayden Scott “Herman” Barnhouse, sister Gwen Longstreet of Summerland, B.C., Canada and his four-legged friend Megan, and many good friends and neighbors.

A private family memorial will be held at his request. The family suggests contributions to your local animal shelter in his memory. Cremation by DeJohn Crematory.
