Florence Hodakievic

FLORENCE HODAKIEVIC (nee Zakrzewski) age 96, beloved wife of the late Henry; loving mother of Kenneth (wife Dayle) and Doug (wife Janice); devoted grandmother of Sarah Smith (husband Matthew) and Brian (wife Kelsey) and great-grandmother of Peighton Smith; cherished daughter of the late John and Frances (nee Ryds) Zakrzewski; dearest sister of Adele Scharf (husband Norman, deceased), Elaine Hrusovsky (husband Edward, deceased) and the late John and Harry Zakrzewski; dear aunt and great-aunt of many.

Florence was born on January 30, 1925 in Cleveland, and passed away on January 31, 2021.  She was a resident of Chardon for the past 6 years, and prior to that, she was a resident of Euclid. Florence was a home maker.  She was an avid reader and loved gardening.  She was affiliated with St. Christine Catholic Church and Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Euclid, and St. Mary in Chardon.  Her family describes Florence as generous, giving of her time, social, always laughing, and very positive.  She will be missed by many.

Mass of Christian Burial Monday, February 8, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 401 North Street, Chardon, OH 44024 at 10 AM. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Florence at the Church Monday Morning 9-10 AM. Arrangements by THE DeJOHN Funeral Home & Crematory of Chardon (formerly Ritondaro).
