Flora E. Decrane

FLORA E. DECRANE (nee Friday) age 90, beloved wife for 69 years of Vincent; loving mother of Barbara Bumbacco (Edward), Peter, Donna Panzica (Timothy), Michael (Sandy), Melinda Capone (Chris), Melissa Gary (Brian), Joan Bova (Joseph) and Mary Jean Salinas (Carlos); devoted grandmother of 27 and great-grandmother of 20; cherished daughter of the late Charles and Abigail (nee Murray) Friday; dearest sister of Gloria Thielmann, Sally Martz (David), and the late Mary King, Charles, Peter, Margaret and Rosemarie Friday, and Joan Kirkham; dear sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt and of many.

Flora was born on September 6, 1928 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and passed away on March 29, 2019. She was a resident of Richmond Heights for 2 years, previously Lyndhurst for 65 years. Flora was a parishioner of St. Clare Church where she was a member of St. Clare Parish Women’s Guild and St. Christopher Circle. She also belonged to many other organizations, including St. Mary’s Madeleva Society, Director of St. Mary’s College Parent Club, and Christ Child Society. Flora was also a thrift shop volunteer, volunteer for Little Sisters of the Poor, and an active neighborhood solicitor for various charities. She was also a Regina High School “Legacy Gala” honoree in 2003. Flora was in the Potpurrie Garden Club and the 1st Friday Club. She graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School in 1947 and from St. Mary’s College in 1951. Flora was a proud homemaker and loved to sew, knit, and make quilts in her free time. She cherished the time spent with her kids and grandchildren. Flora was private, stoic, strong, and giving. She was generous and devoted to her husband, faith, and family. Flora was social, friendly, quiet, gentle, and always led by example. She will be dearly missed by all.

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 10:30 AM at St. Clare Catholic Church. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery.
