Eugene Plaga, Sr.

EUGENE J. PLAGA, SR. age 76, retired Cleveland Police Officer, beloved husband of the late Norma “Nicki” (nee Worstall); loving father of Eugene J. Plaga, Jr. (wife Kathryn); devoted grandfather of Adam, Alena, Julia, Lydia and Gloria; cherished son of the late Stanley and Eva (nee Tyburski); dearest brother of Robert (wife Margie), Ronnie Kuhel (husband Frank) and the late Stanley; dear uncle and great-uncle of many. U.S. Coast Guard Veteran.

Eugene was born on June 24, 1940 in Cleveland and passed away on March 6, 2017. He was a resident of Altercare of Mayfield Village since 2011, formerly residing in Newburgh Heights. Eugene graduated from South High School and from Fenn College as an engineer. He was a member of the Cleveland Police Patrolman Association. Eugene loved hunting, motorcycle riding, camping, boxing and traveling especially to the Smokey Mountains and Florida. He will be remembered as an independent, tough, outgoing and social man who was very mechanically inclined. Eugene will be greatly missed.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Eugene in the COMMUNITY ROOM at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) SUNDAY 2 – 4:30 PM.
