Ernest “Rusty” Seech was born on March 7th, 1955 in Cleveland. He and his sister Julie grew up on Lamontier Avenue and went to St. Benedict’s Elementary School with friends from the neighborhood. He graduated from Benedictine High School, and attended John Carroll University, which is when he met the love of his life: June. They married and soon had two wonderful children, Jennifer and Jason. He joined KMH, a food broker, as a salesman in the early 80’s and made friends with a great group of guys. In 1992 he graduated from Lakeland Community College with his associate’s degree in Applied Business. Rusty worked in Food Sales for many years, eventually retiring from Smith Foods in 2017. He worked part-time at the South Euclid Community Center for almost 20 years, making many friends there as well. In 2005 he realized a life-long dream by opening his own business, Home Sweet Home Repair, which specialized in handling the “Honey Do” lists for his clients. There were many special things that brought joy to his life including Sunday dinners with family and friends, his seven amazing grandchildren and his volunteer work as Santa Claus during the Christmas season. His kindness and charm drew people to him. Rusty passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family. He was always young at heart and his beautiful spirit will be missed.
