ERNEST J. ADAMS, age 88, of Fountain Valley, CA; beloved husband of the late Pauline (nee Prioletti) and Patricia (nee Ryder O’Brien); loving father of Ken (Jackie), Dr. Paul (Mary Ann), William (Loly), Richard, James (Sheri) Adams and stepfather of Edward (Jeanne), Dennis (Nancy), Patricia, Terry, Joseph, Michael, and Lori O’Brien; cherished grandfather of Natalie, Gregory, Sarah, Michael, Robert, Ryan, Ashley, Ian, Kimberly, and Jeffrey, step-grandfather of 12 and step-great-grandfather of 19; treasured son of the late Joseph and Valerie (nee Iglar); dear brother of Teri (Paul) Szucs and the late Raymond.

Ernest J. Adams was born on July 21, 1927 in Cleveland to the late Joseph and Valerie Adams. His immediate family included a younger brother Raymond and sister Teri. He graduated in 1945 from Benedictine High School and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was the father of five boys with his first wife Pauline. The family lived in Cleveland, Cleveland Hts., Lyndhurst, and Newbury. Ernest worked for many years at the East Ohio Gas. Co. (now Dominion) in the finance department, and later leasing land in Ohio for oil and gas well drilling. Among his many hobbies were travel, fishing, gardening, coaching little league baseball, piano, music, watching sports, golfing, and church activities. He also enjoyed visiting and learning about the California Missions, California Wine Country, attending Angels and Dodgers games, and various professional Golf tournaments. Most of all, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Widowed suddenly in 1966, he later re-married Patricia and became the father of seven stepchildren. After the sudden loss of his second wife, he moved to California in 1987. New activities in his life included selling real estate and being a volunteer policeman in Fountain Valley (Orange County). We celebrate the life of a great father and devout Catholic. Ernest was full of love and wisdom, and dedicated his life to Christ.

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, August 15, 2015 at St. Helen Catholic Church, 12060 Kinsman Rd, Newbury, OH at 10 AM. Burial following with Military Honors at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Ernest at St. Helen Church SATURDAY MORNING 9-10 AM. Arrangements by THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS.
