Emma Perz

EMMA PERZ (nee Wittine), aged 100 years, beloved wife of the late Josef, dearest mother of Edward J. (wife Laura) and Rose Cutler (husband Richard), loving grandmother of Andrew Perz and Cari Cutler, cherished sister of Marianne Hofferle and the late Eric Wittine, fond aunt.  Emma was a long-time member of the EOUV.

Emma immigrated to the United States when she was 30 years old. She immigrated from Gottschee, a settlement of German speaking Austrians in what is now Slovenia. While life was difficult being in an unfamiliar place and unable to speak the language, she worked hard, held numerous jobs, and successfully assimilated into the American way of life. She loved to tend to her flower garden and enjoyed getting together with her many friends. She will be remembered for her baking and superb authentic apple strudel. Later in life, her grandchildren were her greatest source of pride and joy.

Contributions in memory of Emma suggested to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, Oct. 1, 2020 at St. Clare Catholic Church at 10 AM. Burial following in All Souls Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID.
