Emma M. Bores, of Portland, Tennessee, passed away April 16, 2014. Born Oct. 21, 1923 to the late James and Beda (nee Delaney) Spangler, in Middlefield, Ohio, Mrs. Bores had been a resident of Portland, Tennessee since 2002. Prior to that she had lived in Newbury for 50 years. .
Mrs. Bores was a homemaker and loved spending time with her grandchildren and gardening. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Franklin, KY and the Church of St. Helen in Newbury.
Survivors are her daughter Mary (Walter) Barnes, of Portland, TN, sons Victor of Portland, TN, Dennis (Frances) of Newbury, and Robert (Linda) of Newbury; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren; brother James (Rosie) Spangler of CA; sisters Lottie Klima of Parkman and Janet (Dr. Robert) Evans of Middlefield; sister-in law Beatrice Spangler of Troy, OH, Jean Spangler-Keen of Portland, TN and many, nieces, nephews and friends.
Emma was preceded in death by her husband Victor in 1976 after 35 years of marriage; brothers Larry, Walter, and Raymond (Theresa) Spangler; sisters Betty (Ben) Piotrowski, Ruth (Walt) Pietrowski, Edith (Dick) Malcuit, and Beda Spangler; brother-in-law Frank Klima.
The family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Emma at St. Helen Catholic Church, 12060 Kinsman Road, Newbury on MONDAY, APRIL 21, 2012 FROM 11:00 AM UNTIL THE TIME OF MASS AT 12 NOON. Rev. Fr. Jay McPhillips officiating. Burial following in Newbury Center Cemetery. ARRANGEMENTS BY THE DEJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY OF CHARDON (formerly Ritondaro).
