TOGETHER AGAIN
EMIL D. LUCARELLI, aged 91 years, beloved husband for 57 years to the late Mary M. (nee Palmeri), dear father of Louise Herbstreit (husband James), Dan Lucarelli and Anita O’Donnell (husband Patrick), loving grandfather of 8 and great-grandfather of 8, companion to the late Shirley Flanagan, cherished brother of the late Meade, Christine Rodio and Ernest.
Emil was a resident of Highland Heights for 54 years. He was a parishioner of St. Clare Catholic Church for 7 years, previously St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church for 48 years. Throughout the years Emil was involved in various church activities, including Bingo, Funeral Masses and as a Holy Rosary altar boy in his youth. He belonged to the ISDA (University Lodge), Little Italy Retirees, was Commander of American Legion Post 775 and Post 104 and Chairman of Council of Aging in Highland Heights.
Emil went to East Tech High School and attended Fenn College and John Carroll University. He was employed as an engineer at Warner & Swasey and Cleveland Pneumatic. He enjoyed playing bocce in his spare time. His favorite music was from the 1940’s and 50’s, especially Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett. Emil received the most enjoyment in life from spending time with his family and friends. His favorite past-times were playing cards, holidays and birthdays. Emil’s family remembers him as a planner, organizer and leader with an even-tempered personality.
Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at St. Clare Catholic Church at 10:30 AM. Interment All Saints Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Emil at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SO. EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just East of Green Rd.) TUESDAY 3-5 AND 6-8 PM.
