Elvera Young

ELVERA R. YOUNG (nee Scaffidi) Passed away November 16, 2015. Beloved wife of the late Robert P. Young. Loving Daughter of Peter and Rose Scaffidi (both deceased) cherished mother of Dr. Randolph M. Young (Connie), Roberta Brofman (Dr. Neil) and Christopher Young. Dear grandmother of Michelle Vowell (Michael), Jennifer Young, Douglas (Gina Fiore), Matthew and Timothy Brofman. Great-grandmother of Nicolas Neil. Sister of Peter, Ralph, Libby, Rudy Scaffidi and Josephine Capretti (all deceased). Many devoted and caring nieces and nephews. After the death of her husband, Elvera continued to serve his automotive customers. Elvera volunteered at Cuyahoga Hts. School for fifteen years, teaching kindergarten children to read. She enjoyed every day of it.

Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, November 19, 2015 St. Francis Assisi Catholic Church, 6850 Mayfield Rd, Gates Mills, OH 44040 at 10AM. Burial following at All Saints Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Elvera at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Elvera’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
