ELVIRA R. “VERA” SZUCH (nee Corsi) age 80, loving mother of Kimberly Fludine (deceased), Gina Szuch, and Ronald (fiancee Heather Franco); devoted grandmother of Jessica Ilacqua (husband Vincenzo), Ashleigh Keefe (husband David), Adam Fludine (Nhi Truong), Robert “RJ,” and great-grandmother of Jonathon Caskovic, Maddison Keefe, and Easton Ilacqua; cherished daughter of the late Edmund and Eva (nee Berardinelli) Corsi; dearest sister of Susan Stanton and Edmund Corsi Jr. (wife Marissa); former wife of the late Ronald Szuch and companion of James Guerrieri; dear aunt and cousin of many.
Vera was born on December 9, 1939 and passed away on August 18, 2020. She was a resident of Gates Mills for 24 years, and previously lived in Highland Heights and Cleveland Heights. Vera graduated from Shaker Heights High School in 1957 and attended John Carroll University. She worked as a real estate agent for 30 years, and served on the housing commissions of Cleveland Heights and Shaker Heights. She was a parishioner of Communion of Saints Parish St. Ann Catholic Church. Vera was very active and creative. She enjoyed golfing, bowling and dancing, as well as painting and cooking. Vera enjoyed all sports, especially her father’s baseball games and her son’s football games. She treasured her travels, especially to Italy. Vera was social and fun-loving. She adored her children and grandchildren, and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
