Ellen Holly

Ellen Holly (nee Clucas) went home to God quietly in her sleep on August 5^th, 2023.  She lived most of her life in Mayfield Heights and surrounding communities as a single mother of two children, Kimberly Bartula (Peter) and James Holly (Charity).  She worked as a medical secretary to doctors at both the Cleveland Clinic as well as University Hospitals in Cleveland, often working second jobs to provide a better life for her children.  Ellen enjoyed having a meal with a friend, seeing a movie, or listening to jazz music.  She once travelled to New Orleans with long-time friend Lindberg St. Cyr to attend a jazz festival.  She is survived by sisters Barbara Crawley and Janet Angie (Robert) along with grandchildren Erin McLeod and Kaleigh Katz (Ryan) and great-grandchildren Easton McLeod, Kennedy Katz, and Evelyn McLeod.  Ellen is now reunited with her sister Mary Lou Clucas, brother-in-law Thomas Crawley, parents Harry and Sarah Clucas, and Kramer.   Please meet for the funeral service on Friday, Aug. 11, 2023, at the Knollwood Cemetery Mausoleum. 1678 SOM Center Rd., Mayfield Heights, at 2 pm.  A reception for family friends and neighbors will follow at the Bartula residence in Cuyahoga Falls at 6 pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
