ELIZABETH PETRUS (nee Fazekas), age 90; beloved wife of the late John R.; loving mother of Gerald J. (wife Debra), James J. (wife Sandra) and Maryann Szabados; devoted grandmother of Wendy Mandat (husband Michael), Nicole Kuskie (husband Bryan), Mark and Rebecca Szabados, Matthew (wife Ana), Eric (wife Elizabeth) and great-grandmother of 8; dearest sister of Andrew Fazekas (wife Paula) of Hungary and the late Margaret Kovach (husband Joseph, deceased); dear aunt and great-aunt of many.

Born in Hungary November 4, 1923, Elizabeth was a resident of South Euclid since 1953 when she moved from Cleveland. She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and then Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish while she lived in South Euclid. Elizabeth was the owner/operator of Elizabeth’s Beauty Shop. She enjoyed Bible Study, baking, cooking, sewing, reading and playing the organ. Elizabeth passed away on May 20, 2014 at Hospice of the Western Reserve. She will be fondly remembered as a strong woman who was loving, kind-hearted and faithful.

Contributions may be made in Elizabeth’s memory to Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish or Hospice of the Western Reserve.

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, May 24, 2014 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish at 9:30 AM. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Elizabeth at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) FRIDAY 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
