Elizabeth Newby

ELIZABETH MINIER NEWBY, age 84, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 24, 2012. She was born September 21, 1927 in Kansas City, Missouri. Family connections, church and friendships were very important to her. She will be dearly missed. Elizabeth had a real passion for plants and gardening. She also loved to travel, visiting destinations all around the globe. She was a regular volunteer with the Junior Board for 30 years. Her husband, William Edward Newby, preceded her in death. She is survived by her sons Robert Frederick Newby and Thomas Owen Newby, daughter Julia Newby Dornback, daughters-in-law Donna Ratchford Recht and Connie DeBiase Newby, son-in-law David Hayden Dornback, grandchildren David, Michael, Kate, Anna, Jesse, Teddy, Billie Rose and Sam, and great grandson Aaron. Elizabeth has lived in Richmond Heights since 2009. The communities at Homewood Residence and Faith United Church of Christ (UCC) warmly opened their arms to her and made her feel at home.
