Elizabeth M. Cashin

ELIZABETH M. “BETTE” CASHIN (nee Kessler), age 93, of Cleveland, OH died May 19, 2017 at Judson Park. She was born May 23, 1923 in Leroy Township, OH to the late John and Fanny (nee Nagel) Kessler. Elizabeth married her husband Charles W. “Bud” Cashin, Jr. on September 22, 1943. They were married while Bud was home on leave during World War II.

Elizabeth was a 10-year member of the New Hope Ministries in Mayfield Heights, and a former member of Suburban Christian Church in Highland Heights.

Her hobbies included sewing, reading and working crossword puzzles.  Her family described her as a loving wife, and mom; she was “Aunt Bette” to everyone else, with witty humor and kind, sparkling eyes. She loved the Lord and was a devoted church member.

Elizabeth is survived by her children JoAnn Cashin, of Mayfield Heights, Cheryl L. Taylor (husband James R.) of Spokane, Washington, and Charles W. Cashin, III (wife Sherry J.) of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Beside her husband Charles W. “Bud” Cashin, Jr. who died September 4, 1986, Elizabeth is preceded in death by her siblings Rudy Kessler, Jake Kessler, John Kessler, Joseph Kessler (who was killed in the line of duty during World War II), Katherine Kessler Kondas, Lawrence Kessler, and William Kessler.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Elizabeth’s memory to the Judson Park Bruening Health Memory Care Center, 1881 Ambleside Road Cleveland, Ohio 44106.

Family and friends are invited to share in a Celebration of Life Service in Elizabeth’s memory on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 10 am at New Hope Ministries Church, 1441 Lander Road Mayfield Heights, Ohio 44124. Cremation by DeJohn Crematory.
