ELIZABETH BASIE (nee Macauda) age 90. Beloved wife of the late Matthew V. Loving mother of Matthew V., Jr and Thomas M. Devoted grandmother of Michael J., Christopher, Jennifer, great-grandmother of Margaret, Madelynn, Ethan, Nicholas, Jake and great-great grandmother of 2. Cherished daughter of the late Vincent and Rosaria (nee Scarso) Macauda. Dearest sister of Millie Russo (husband Nate, deceased) and the late Rose Marie, Emanuel (wife Bianca, deceased), George (wife Betty) and Arthur Macauda, Esther Scherer (husband Bill, deceased), Dolores Imbrosciano and Jean Baltitis (husband Bill). Dear aunt and great-aunt of many.

A graduate of Collinwood High School and member of St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church, Elizabeth was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, working the election polls, “mothering others” and listening to big band music. She will be remembered as a selfless, wise woman who was very devoted to her two sons.

Mass of Christian Burial Monday, June 18, 2012 at St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church at 10 AM. Burial following at Knollwood Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Elizabeth at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) SUNDAY 2-6 PM.
